It looks like several team members are open for work on Linkedin today. What happened?

I was a Business Risk and Controls Advisor in Bank; myself and 6 of my teammates were laid off, and the rest of the team was repurposed. Not sure how they decided who got to stay and who got the axe.
I left about a year ago. That place is a train wreck. The executives are clueless and management is brainwashed. Honestly, I suspect the entire business is losing money. Because they aren't public they don't have to disclose anything until after the fact when Wayne delivers a weak at best message. What blows me away are the 6,000 regular employees and about 13,000 contactors in IT alone! I'm stunned that 18,000 freaking people create such terrible applications. Oh and "The Mission?" What a joke. I served 20 years in the military and priced they several times. Guess what? USAA was the most expensive! Personnally, shut the whole charade down and lay off all the retired generals.

The ones on Linkedin were let go. You should check out their profiles and comments
Opening to opportunities on LinkedIn doesn't mean they are laid off. They probably are just looking for something better, tho I heard they are planning on cutting 20% of the workforce in Risk and Compliance.
What roles were eliminated?
confirmed here. in our area the people that got their notice were IT and business directors
We heard of the layoffs today in our depart in the bank. Of course we were told that we are safe but I certainly don’t feel safe especially learning that more to come.
Our VP from IT just announced there were some layoffs today
My friend got laid off idk what happened. She was at the bank at the BBIA team. She said first wave 260 ppl second wave to come next!
