When will people learn that they're not safe from layoffs? If you look at the groups of people that have been laid off in the last few years you'll notice one thing, there's no rhyme or reason to it. The good, the bad, the old, the young, high earners, low earners...all of those people were affected. It's all about the numbers, in the end. They want to get rid of high earners, for example, but they don't want to be accused of age discrimination so they add some low earners who are mostly younger in the mix as well. Collateral damage. Some of you need to accept reality for your own good.

one of my coworkers told me that he saw that the worst people were some times kept and great and SME employees laid off and that “he was in shock about that for a long time”.
I’ve seen employees who were rehired as contractors for the same projects after laid off, and even though some of those employees told me they’re better off (in term of pay) it didn’t make sense to me.
Only slackers get laid off they said, only quitters get laid off they said, they always keep the best people they said…
It’s a different world now, that era is behind us…
Same here at L3 Harris. Someone once told me they have it worked out to a science.
