There were a series of layoffs a few months ago including my manager. Our stock price has plummeted. Today, my theater's Executive VP was let go. Meanwhile, I've been coasting, lost between the cracks of restructuring with no manager to report to or clients to support. My calendar is empty and I have complete autonomy. I collect my paycheck and check the boxes for IT and HR training so I don't show up on any naughty lists and enjoy my day. I know this can't last, but I sure will enjoy it while it does.
