Thread regarding NCR Corp. layoffs

Y’all just need to stage a walk out

And try to unionize. But it’s an all in for it or it won’t work.. That’s the only thing left to try other than get a different job. It may not stop a them from put up the for sale sign, but it would sure hurt them a lot on that sale.

Unions are for scrubs—seniority over talent. Have fun with your make believe union that will make life more miserable

Yea I know I work in nyc as a tec and paid my dues. Got walking pay etc. I then went to tech support in Georgia (lvl2) after a few year I brought it up and people we like oh sh-t we can’t and don’t really want to. Then I was told level 2 was considered first level management and was forbidden to unionize. Even tho we had no management duties. I called bushit but no one want to even talk about it. This was in the 90s.

It would not hurt. Back in the 70’s and 80’s there were quite a few union branches (New York, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Detroit Louisville) maybe more cant recall for sure. It was funny watching Territory Managers who had not carried a tool kit or been to school going to these cities to run service calls. Even though they were your manager you were forbidden from helping by phone. Just them and customers “twisting in the wind”.

That's never going to happen in Atlanta but it could happen in India or Serbia if they desire to stop being treated like 3rd world servants. The question is do they want to keep getting paid 1/10th their value anywhere else in the civilized world?
