Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Salary/Wage Compression…

We are seeing salary or wage compression in a few departments and it’s beginning to be a problem.

Long story short, new employees are starting off in the same position making more than people who have been here 5-10 years.

Does anyone have any insight on how Centene handles this? It is not right no matter which way you slice it.

This happens in most companies, especially in roles that are challenging to fill and need specific experience. If you are promoted you will get raised to the low end of the salary range because it’s a jump up from current. If you come in from outside, you can negotiate. It’s just the way of the business world, fair or not.

unlawful company: Judging by your post it seems you are having a problem with pay and promotion because your writing and grammar skills are lacking. You should take some of the free classes in Centene University.

I am currently hiring CM1s...used to always be CM2, and they are getting a minimum 80k. That is more than most of my CM2s who have been here for 3 or 4+ years.
They make way to close to what I make and I have been here for 8 years and they will be CM1s.
Leadership doesn't get retention bonuses either...at least not in my department...
Management knows and I personally care and have been throwing a fit about this but they don't care above me.

YES, they are paying less, and less, if you are a minority, expect to get pay less, regardless of your seniority. The new employees are making more money, unlawful practices, this company is a disaster in every sense, and they do not care, they are paying lobbyist left & right, this company feel very secure based on company size, they are not even paying their vendors on time, doctors do not like to accept these insurances because they payment practices. At every level, this is affecting employees, vendors, doctors, hospitals, brokers! hopefully somebody is watching and listening.

Management is hoping you don’t find out you’re underpaid. Workers are disposable to them. They’re willing to let that knowledge and expertise walk out the door just to keep those that find out they’re underpaid from telling the others. Remember, it’s all about chasing pennies with these people.
