Tentative agreement: CWA & CTL/Lumen

July 6th 2022

CWA District 7 CenturyLink/Lumen Bargaining Team can announce that we have
reached a tentative agreement. This agreement includes an increase in wages, job security, new work brought into the
bargaining unit and no changes to benefits or pensions for active employees.
Details should be coming out tomorrow or in the coming days… any thoughts on why this happened so quickly and what might we expect to see in the language?

Good news everyone the union had agreed to let them suck the life out of you until they can replace you with contractors...

medical will go up 2023 10%
2024 12%
2025 15%
Government says inflation is 9.1% but it's more we all know that. So get ready to pay more and make less.

I agree that our health benefits are not a bargained for item. Hopefully under a larger pool it won't go up, but it could. i hope the workers who want to stay a little longer can. New hires should only come onboard as a stepping stone to get back out and get a real job that pays. The company does not even follow it's own policies for how the treat their workers. Hope someone calls them out on it.

No change to benefits that aren’t negotiated anymore? And that was a win… Just wait until management cranks up your medical premiums in November to make up for any raise they give you. Spineless union gave up negotiating medical benefits years ago yet they claim “no change to benefits” like they achieve something. Just a bunch of scumbags, all they wanted was more people to pay dues and that’s the way the company paid them off under the table, letting them add a handful of network techs.. Total Joke representation

"That doesn't even cover the inflation from the last two years."

That's why the company settled so fast.

Lumen to hire over 200 technicians. For what? If selling copper off what would be the need?

BS will be fun for a while until the economy tanks and their pump and dump strategy doesn't turn out.

All agreements ends with layoffs.
Centurylink has done that for last 2 decades.

So nobody expected a raise to match information. Most believe that selling to a company that is willing to do something with it would be great because Lumen will let it die.

Wage increase locked in at less than actual inflation and paves the way to sell off to Brightspeed next year.
