I think Oracle prefers insecure employees.

Internal communication around this topic at Oracle is pretty bad. No one knows anything, even at higher up management levels. Keeping your own people in the dark obviously creates rumour after rumour and makes employees feel very insecure.

Hi @4kda my thoughts exacetely. CX may be a target too. I think others are good.

But knowing how Oracle operates (11 years here) I think nobody is safe ever.

Now might be a good time to research the location of your nearest food bank. Make a donation now, while you can. That way the staff will get to know your face.

LOL!

Word on the street is that CX is toast. They juiced all the profit from acquisitions and did no innovation. Essentially they ran a mid-level PE play, and now those who are stuck are there with they pants down

I've seen "software" is included in the potential layoffs... are cloud apps lumped into that category? I feel as if HCM, ERP, and others are actually doing quite well. I can see where CX is struggling.

Oracle is stealing from IBM's playbook.

Can’t hurt, and you can help others in the meantime!

Well there it is. Quicker than what I heard.

Think there was a misquote as marketing products in addition to commerce and service will be affected. Ad tech too.

Whoever this source is, thank you… gives many good people a better lead time while they still have jobs and prevent the awful stigma that comes with being unemployed.

If you’re in CX or OA: get out now before you have to do a sad layoff post on LinkedIn. This is it, folks…

Looks like Oracle is busy working to improve "shareholder value".

Paywalled...

Oracle recently considered cost reductions of up to $1 billion that could result in thousands of layoffs as soon as August, said a person with direct knowledge of the situation. The proposed job cuts could disproportionately impact U.S.- and Europe-based workers in units such as marketing for software applications that automate customer service and ecommerce functions, this person said.
The cuts have been discussed while Oracle makes investments to serve one of its newest cloud customers: TikTok, the viral video app owned by China-based ByteDance. It’s a key contract for Oracle, a pioneer in database software that is trying to compete with Amazon Web Services in selling cloud computing services. But the timing of Oracle’s investments for a Chinese customer while it considers cutting American jobs has irked some managers, said the person with knowledge of the discussions and another person who was briefed about it.
