Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

So much stress

This is such a stressful environment. I did the same job in another company, so now I can make a comparison. There is incomparably more stress here.
No day goes by without some stressful situation. Is there anyone here who can relax (at least a little bit) while doing their work?

I moved to Deployable CS and love life (although I'm older, and don't have young children at home). Albeit, it is a lot of hours, the OT makes the paycheck VERY nice and I keep my eyes on the prize of retiring in 5 years and giggling when I think about how much this is helping my pension!

If you're not happy, find something that makes you happy. There are ALWAYS alternatives.

How is treating fellow human beings with respect part of the problem exactly?

@3dcb. You are the problem and not the solution. God bless your little heart!

Respect and care in the workplace, you must not work in a production position like claims. It’s nice to hear other parts of the company actually do that.

"Everyone has to be extremely careful of what they say because someone gets offended then the name calling and condescending starts."

Yes, because heaven forbid all people are treated with respect and care in the WORKPLACE. Mutual respect and understanding simply sounds just too awful to embrace. Right?

I guess you believe that respect and care should be reserved for those that pray like you, look like you, choose intimate partners like you, and speak only your language. You know, like a fascist believes.

Your disdain for your fellow humans is noted. And it is both laughable and frightening.

To be a truly caring human, all one needs to do is respect everyone else's decisions on how one wants to live their life as long as those decisions do not harm you.

Why cannot people live this simply and let go of their political and faith based hate?

Try Allstate if you want real stress. Understaffing. AND mass layoffs in 2020 and more coming in August 2022. Massive outsourcing.

So sad today. Everyone has to be extremely careful of what they say because someone gets offended then the name calling and condescending starts. Whenever two or more people can't sit down and rationally resolve any dispute, it leads to canceling and chaos which in turn leads to nothing getting done. More reasons why too many people at all levels are getting huge paychecks while producing nothing. Then we question why high inflation, why high gas prices, and why crime is through the roof. It's time to look in the mirror at all levels and come to terms with what made business successful and what normal ethics should be.

Let me tell you , boomer or Gen X or Millennial or Zoomer people are people and when they been in an accident the last thing they want is to be hearing BS words , all they care about is moving on with the life and when they hear those BS words to get around saying what really happened they pick up on them and get further pi---d off.

obviously you have never in your life have to give bad news to a customer, I don't think you even talk to people ever ,you probably just have a cushy analyst job.

the fact you went out of your way to pick on @1pbr+1hF0IH8V is stupid, specially because what that individual said is true , calls are recorded and transcribed by software then it filters out those special words, at this point the use of that software borders on illegal due to the actual licensing requirements for handling claims, this is a fiduciary position meaning what's best for the customer is what the law requires not what is best for the company image, in a TL scenario not telling someone a car is a TL is a kin to lying thus going against the law in many states.

No wonder mgmt is for gender cool. Believe my way or I will name call you and shout you down. No wonder the stress level is so high. They can't even figure out basic facts about life. No wonder people are stressed out. They asked for it and got it.

I'm one of those boomers people on this thread complain about, and I'll just let you know that I don't get upset with these "frightening" words everyone talks about.

Who do you think these policies are directed to?

By the way, what pronoun should I refer you as while I speak about you with other people?

In total loss we are no longer allowed to use words like unfortunately your vehicle has been deemed a total loss. They want us to stay away from negative words. We are supposed to keep the conversation positive. Like there is a positive way to tell someone their vehicle is a total loss. If I was a customer the fastest way to pi-s me off is what they are now having me do to our customers. Even talks of having us use the words non repairable instead of total loss. Among other mandates/extra steps they are putting out that will negatively affect our metrics but won’t adjust the metric settings to accommodate for those mandates/extra steps. It’s getting really ridiculous. Plus I still spend a good portion of the day cleaning up after ECR’s messes

I don't have time for personal thought, or breaks really. Treating their claim handlers as disposable labor saves the executives money for their bonuses. I'm glad to be helping them. They bought me a cookie for the 100 year anniversary to show how much they care so its cool.

Agreed, I’m an injury CS in tier 1, and have gotten 11 new claims today. No liability investigations started, no calls made, just 0. This is on top of the 38 calls I’ve been on today. Claims is a stressful thankless job for sure.
