I've also heard some rumors about possible cuts, but I really refuse to believe that it is true. Many people have left and are still leaving. Who would be the target this time? Who will remain here if there are cuts again? New cuts could cause even greater attrition. I personally would not like to survive another round of layoffs.

"The reporter is acting as if there is evidence of a layoff."

I think she is simply trying to find out if there will be another round. People posted the possibility of another round of layoffs and so she is interested in learning more. I see nothing wrong with this. After all, do you really think Joanne Berthiaume is going to spill the details?
You called her article back in May "third-rate" journalism, but you must realize that she can only go by what the company disclosed to her, which is pretty much nothing since Bose is a private company. By the way, this same "third rate" article was quoted and picked up by other sites including Engadget, The Verge, and others. Evidently, it was newsworthy.
I do not know Ms. Gardizy, but you are expecting her to be Bob Woodward with only so much to go off.
I have nothing to do with Bose management. I have no idea what triggered that. The reporter is acting as if there is evidence of a layoff. Have you been laid off this month? Anyone you know laid off this month? I know plenty about journalism, which I don't have to defend here.
I'd love to know how the pro sale will work, but I'm not important enough to have access to that information. Up here one what you think is some high executive horse. As you say, management has not been transparent. Ever, going back decades. But asking for anonymous info based on unsupported claims is not a good way to get the facts. I wouldn't worry too about attracting new hires. Corporate culture does a good job of sending good prospects on their way, and the salaried do even more.
I'm interested in the facts, not some third-rate newspaper article like the last one. Simple facts don't really sell papers any more.
"What recent layoff round? If you have information that there's been layoffs since the last round, then you don't need anonymous "on background" to confirm it. And if you don't have such information, why are you spreading misinformation here?
Maybe you should re-think some issues of information sources and journalistic integrity. I know, I know, that's not going to happen.
What exactly do you know about "journalistic integrity?" Someone is simply doing their job and reporting local news that affects Bostonians and the local economy. What don't you understand about that?
Why aren't you attacking the other 10 people who previously mentioned the sale of Pro/Install in this specific thread and in others? You must be in upper management or on the Board of Directors, as you're awfully defensive.
Is Bose management being transparent with acquisitions or employee job security? If so, please provide that communication. You won't because you can't. How else are people supposed to mentally prepare themselves? Livelihoods are on the line here. Perhaps some pressure from the press will help Bose management come clean with their plans or intentions for the future of the company instead of keeping people in the dark. Doesn't really scream "come work at Bose" for any future prospective employee either. Get off your almighty horse.
"confirm the most recent layoff round" ????

Hello: I'm the business reporter at the Boston Globe who reported on the last round of Bose layoffs. I'm looking to confirm the most recent layoff round + pro sale for an upcoming story. Feel free to reach out, to me, I am happy to chat on the record or on background. anissa.gardizy@globe.com cell/Telegram: 215-896-1307
Cheers for the confirmation. Was it already announced internally? If so, when? Does anyone know which private equity company?
Pro and install are being sold. I don’t know the details. I also don’t know why it’s taking so long. Hopefully they announce it soon so that we can stop pretending like it’s not happening and move on with life.
I am a victim of past layoff. Can you kindly elaborate on this Bose sale? Was the Pro/Install Division sold to another company?!
When will the Pro employees be off the books, and no longer Bose employees?
Could be a lot of people getting let go as a casualty of the pro and install sale. You know, people that won’t go with the new company, and won’t work for Bose. A lot of people have already been notified, it’s even more or less public information. If it is hush hush, nobody is policing it.
If there are other layoffs that don’t relate to the sale of pro and install, please tell.
