Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

I don't care about this company anymore

Being totally indifferent to everything that happens here while looking for a new job is the only way to survive a day at this company. Why should any of us care about this company more than those who are supposed to do it and are well paid for it?

Nobody cares except for maybe the delusional brown-noser a few comments down. There are nearly 400+ sub contractors working in NJS/NJN at any given time and that doesn't count the FTTH contractors either. There are maybe 200 in house technicians between all the depos in that region. That doesn't look like a glimmer of hope to me, looks more like the future of Altice. The suddenlink footprint might get lucky though if Altice decides to sell..

The impression I get is that you’re the type that enjoys watching your wife with another man.

Real answer: you are not well informed. The deal went down years ago. Kinks have been worked out (hahahahahaha) and it won’t be getting better. This is not a company in transition this is company dead set on pillaging it’s assets till the owners feel they can’t milk one more cent. At that time we will be sold off piece by piece and most likely under a judges orders. Kind of like selling that used jalopy you drive to work for parts at your local junkyard.

Post script. Going to go out on a limb and say you probably don’t have many friends here.

Nah. Altice is a fully garbage company in every aspect. Your managers don't care about what is right, they encourage you to do OT so their metrics look better and they get a bigger bonus at the end of the year while the rest of you are left sucking wind. Get real.

Not true,i care about this company and my customers.I make an impact every day,1 job at a time.Ya'll are so quick to condemn the company as a whole,You have all the necessary tools to make a change.But you would rather complain and get off at 4:15 every day.The change starts with you and I period.Did you volunteer to help a tech who was behind?Did you make it a priority to check in with that customer whos had repeat issues?Did youre paycheck bounce last week?Did you offer to mentor that green new hire,knowing it was gonna put you behind?My management has NEVER turned me down for O.T.Quite the contrary,they encourage me to do whatever is necessary on a regular basis,to further my reach to my colleagues and my customers,WITHOUT question.Am i claiming theres no room for inprovement,Absolutely not.Have you EVER been through a merger/acquisition or buyout that wasnt without its challenges?I have MANY times.Its a process and it s--ks usually,lets be honest.But lets control what we can,thats all we can do.Document it,Escalate it.If you lose the battle,hey you tried.But dont come here with a half hearted approach,crying poor me and expect to sway the pocketbooks of the masses(who actually jumpstart positive change)because you personally are frustrated.We are ALL in it for the customers.They pay our salaries,not the other way around.Im writing this reply on my day off,after volunteering most of it to tbs and repair an issue,because it was needed.Because NOONE else would do it.Can you say the same?...
