In five years cgg will be a corporation that has expanded within the limits of environmental, energy transition, and infrastructure businesses, which it considers growth opportunities. It will have funded growth using its legacy businesses as dying cash cows until selling those at a salvage value. The value of its transactions will be smaller, and with far less total annual turnover than historical. It will have bet the farm on a continuing appetite for replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy. Still not a bad approach given the state of the seismic business.
