I hate to see attrition is up enough to negate the need for layoffs. That's exactly what everybody involved in this mess was hoping would happen. If people leave on their own instead of waiting to be laid off, the company saves piles of money since it doesn't have to pay severance or unemployment. I have no intention to leave on my own. If they want me out, they can pay me to walk away.
