Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

*** Do not work at State Farm ***

If you are considering working at SF or are a current employee, go find a new job or do not even consider coming to work at SF.

Over the last 5-6 years our current CEO-MT has completely fleeced the company of all of its claim experience. SF fired/ran off almost 50% (17,000) of its claims employees and used the expense savings to subsidize premiums and grew the company by over 4 million policies. The problem is before the growth even started SF was not properly staffed. SF could hire 20,000 people and it would not fix the problems as claim is literally years behind on its work. The people that are being hired are absolute bottom of the barrel. Most of the people hired are soon fired within the first 6 months or should be. This is basically a criminal organization and I pray that the regulators find out what Tipsy did. He needs to be led way in handcuffs and seize the almost $100 million dollars in compensation and bonuses. The working conditions are horrible with endless overtime, useless training and zero criteria for employment other than they are able to breath/alive. They will literally work people to death with endless overtime, pressure, and stress on constant angry customer upset no one has touched their claim in months. SF is a complete nightmare and mitigated disaster!!! Run away as fast as you can! DO NOT COME TO WORK AT SF!!!!!

There is going to be a huge nosedive in the economy. Those that think they are safe will probably be the first ones to go in the name of cost cutting. I recently left state farm, even took a pay cut and boy does it feel great.

Another reason why a majority in claims are unhireable is because they are damaged goods from dealing with only negative encounters. That carries over into the next profession. Hence, claims is not a career especially with what they offer.

People cannot leave- no one would hire them. Over paid and under skilled is reputation of claims outside of SF.

Yeah any contact position answering the phone is a tough place to be in. Those not in those positions are pretty out of touch, hence, the why don’t you just leave comments they like to give.
