Covid cases in the office are way up. Will we see a change soon to current policies?

You must not have experience. All company’s have bigots, bullies, and bullshitters.

The bigotry and hate at Oxy is amazing. No other company has this level of petty, hide behind message board, bullying bigotry. This company is so bad.

@2msz+1hJOc4FC Don't always assume everyone is a boomer. Some of us just accept that we work for a company that gave us two days a week WFH, and the other three in the office. Compare that to pre-covid and I for one will take it and be thankful. It really does come down to the individual, and if they don't like or appreciate the two days WFH then try somewhere else. I think most oil companies are hybrid and some are be in the office everyday. Go to your supervisor or manager and see if you can work something out. The company is even doing a trial run with accounting, so I don't know how much else you would want. People just need to stop using Covid as an excuse to WFH and get on with life. Being scared of Covid is a whole other sitiuation and is understandable. I think the company would listen to you if you have a valid reason to need to stay away from groups of people, but it affects us all in different ways.

@2msz+1hJOc4FC is obviously referring to the previous post, which begs the question. If a boomer is characterized as someone who believes that if you do not like the situation at your current job you should find another job, what characterizes a non-boomer? What should a non-boomer do if he or she is unhappy with their job? I would think the same thing. So what about that previous post is problematic? The poster doesn’t say working from home is good or bad, or that he or she wants to WFH or not. Is it the implication that doing something about your situation is preferable to griping about it? If so, is that what characterizes a non-boomer - Someone who would rather gripe about a situation than do something about it? One course of action seems much more mature than the other. I’ll let you guess which one it is.

I wish I could approve you to work from home everyday. If I was authorized to do that that would mean I was making big big big bucks at Oxy. But I am not so you will just have to live with two days a week from home.

The comment below is spoken like a boomer that needs to retire already.

You can two days a week. If that is not good enough find a job that will let you work from home full-time. Really pretty easy to figure out, but you better hurry. Once a recession hits you will be lucky to have a job and the lines to fill yours will be long.

There are issues w flying now due to insurance companies refusals to cover pilots who took the jab. The ones who didnt got fired. Insurance companies are now refusing coverages because the jab was experimental , is causing a variety of health issues and sudden deaths and there is really NO approved one in the US. Just a matter of time before they get to those who attested to getting the jab on the OXY V-attestation form we were required to submit.

I am sure the number of physical meetings will be reduced and the maximum number of people in attendance will be limited. Zoom calls when in the office will be encouraged. What a shame when the company was starting to have more people to people interaction.

I think Vicki needs to put the well-being of employees first. Health over profits. Don’t let the angry mob force your hand.

People with Covid just need to stay home or work from home until they test positive. The test could be submitted to occupational health. That is the simplest solution. Hopefully people don’t have Covid work parties just so they can work from home.
