Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

Big news coming?

First off I am not we’ll connected by any means. With that said I am hearing that they are dropping some big news in the next several weeks. I am not sure what, if anything at all. Has anyone else heard anything like this?

Well might be true to some extent but not how we think if im correct. Its a work around for cash flow. In Nevada a Casino did this where the parent Casino owned a another Casino and they other Casino purchased the first casino and they were paying a lease agreement to the new owners but they were basically the same company. Its a work around for cash flow. My guess is Hyvee probably owns a realestate offshoot company that purchases the building and land and then that store pays a lease agreement for a fixed number of years. I think #1658 Topeka location did this about 10yrs ago where when I worked there they payed a lease payment. I dont think it was set up that way from the get go but might have been. The original Store Director Shwan Brown told me this so I know it did happen and was something that most Hyvees did not do. So my guess its a work around for Cashflow.

HyVee is looking to sell all the store buildings and land. They will just pay a lease to the new owners. Quick way to get cash fast. I’m guessing HyVee wants to expand so they are trying to get as liquid as possible. The bad part is if HyVee blows all the cash from doing this they won’t have a safety need from going bankrupt. I know Randy will sell the idea about all the food that will come from the cash flow but we all know Randy doesn’t know how to spend money and get a positive ROI on his idea. His like a NFL player that just blows cash. We this is the beginning of the end for HyVee.
