Any news on inflation raises?

Here it is straight from the top: Forget it. Now, get back to work.
Was hired in 1983. Salaries were frozen till 1988. New hires in 1988 were offered significantly more than I was making. Found a lot of grease during this time. Company eventually made our salaries competitive but it was a long time coming. Have a hard time listening to the top 2 percenters feel they need an inflation raise to keep up with their SUV payments. Things have been much worse in the past. Good luck.
Salaries are based on market conditions only. Oxy sets compensation based on what its competition pays. Always been that way, always will.
There is no such thing as an inflation raise. Good companies raise salaries based on the need to be competitive, not because you can’t manage your money.
What a bunch of spoiled people. They have never given inflation raises even in the early 80’s. If people start quitting because of no inflation raises they will just tell you good luck in your future and then show you the spring loaded door. The people asking these questions about inflation raises are inexperienced.
Oh, yeah, not happening.
I heard Social Security will see the highest increase next year in the range of 11% because of inflation, but I would not expect anything from businesses just for inflation. Maybe when people find jobs just because of more pay then Oxy might counter. I had a friend leave Oxy and they told her they do not make counter offers, so it might not work at Oxy.
