They legit will take anyone. If you apply during a hiring frenzy prepare for a phone interview that lasts 10min and then an offer immediately.

Its one of the few interviews where instead of saying "just tell the recruiter what you think they want to hear" you could legit interview truthfully and still get hired, which is something I dont think i could say for any other industry ive ever worked for.

IMO I would use the word career a lot when describing what you are looking for ect.

Either way they are so very desperate for functional humans.

Are you interviewing for the IT/Platform, Data/Scientist, Info Sec or Product/Software Development area? In general Tech at SF is pretty serious in the sense it’s mostly highly skilled engineers who know their stuff. We run much leaner than in years passed and while it’s a great environment, the expectation is everyone is skilled and pulls their weight. SF has 90M accounts and one of the most complex set of products sold, so in general the tech professionals are upper tier compared to what you’ll find elsewhere.

Explain your skills and experiences and your desire to grow into the role and career. In general, there are good advancement opportunities in Tech, but to progress it requires interviewing by experienced committees and producing uses cases to evaluate.

Getting in isn’t a cake walk but probably easier than a Google etc but promoting requires validation of expert engineering skills and demonstrated success.

The gripes on this page are almost exclusively production areas like in Claims, call center and underwriting and not Corporate roles. They have some legit concerns but Tech is run like a department of professionals that closely resembles industry best practices. It’s a rewarding tech career.
