Claims bonus

So with the $1,500 claim bonus being paid out soon, what are peoples thoughts on more in the future? I think initially it was a short turn solution until people could be hired, the problem is so many people don’t stay in claims. The hubs outside of Bloomington have so much competition for talent, I just see the company getting to a proper staffing level without bonuses.

@2jem. Exactly. Funny there are a lot of adjusters on this site that don't understand simple math like you do.

SF used to give the COLA (cost of living adjustment). No more! Took that away too! Then, they claim competitive wages? Took away pension. Took away....took away while all the rest get huge bonuses etc. We are all sweat shop workers in operations. They'll get what they pay for.

with inflation that $1500 barely covers Gas which is now a wash, meaning bonus does nothing to the bottom line, this is without accounting for Inflation affecting rent, bills and specially food , everything is 2 to sometimes 3 times more expensive.

Depending on where you live if your 2022 raise is lower than 9% to 12% you effectively got a pay cut , meaning you now earn less than you did on 2021.

A cost of living adjustment of at least 9% is necessary at this point just to break even, not even to make more than 2021 but instead just to break even add to that the usually crumbs that is the merit increase and SF really should be giving substantial raises to everyone in claims, and this is not even counting for the fact Claims is no longer competitive pay wise even without the figures above being magically resolved.

will anything change , nope

also I never got the $6 cookie for the 100th year thing that @1klo+1hZkFEbK mentioned, heck they ignore our entire section that week like we did not even exist.

Retired, no mortgage and more than a manager. Don't need no bonus.

oh and the $1500 is like that $6 cookie we got for the 100 year thing. Better than nothing. My yearly gas to and from the office one week a month is about that with inflation. My rent nearly doubled, and everything i buy is now nearly twice as expensive, and has been for half a year, but my pay is the same, but i get $1500 to help....

$1500 is a delayed payment to handlers because they started giving hiring bonuses of $1500 to all new hires and wanted to not forget already hired people, so they promised the 1500 in august, I believe the change happened in February.

Bigger issue is the old management style that sees its core workforce of handlers as middle school children that need to be monitored and directed every second of every day. Adults dont want that kind of life, and most other industries at least try to act like they like you and trust you.

SF needs to drop its old ego, its no longer the destination insurance company to work for, so stop acting like we need to be thankful to be employed here. Also employees pick up on that company ego from the 90s and before when it was a family company and was a great place to work for life. You all sold that for cost savings, so you cant pretend working here is like that anymore. Be grateful so many do show up to work 100x harder for the same money as retail. Claims is a really bad deal right now in the economy, realize this.

I’ll include this tid bit to, before I left asked my manager asked basically if I was financially stable enough to make that decision. Don’t take this as me bragging, just truthful. I’m a little privileged but not enough to be a b-m my whole life. If I was a working class person getting by off only that, it was purely insulting.

As an outsider looking in, I can see they prey on financially vulnerable people. They see you as just typical working class. Anyone above claims calls it a call center. Find anyone outside operations and ask them about it. Even 60k is pretty low. That’s entry level no prior education, hardly any labor machining pay. Greenhorn is what they call it.

I was in the auto side. On paper I was close to 40k base like 37,900 or something. I’ll be honest I really only needed health insurance. It was a turn off your brain type job until everyone that was worth a cr-p in life left, and ECR’s became the majority.

I knew I was hired as a monkey to be on the phone they call it “from the streets” there. I’ll be honest it was fun making stuff up on why I had no intentions to promote within that cr-p ho-e. Like offering 15k to be a cs and stressed out everyday for 8 hours, or 10 with that mandatory ot bs.

Well $65k in base salary, the bonus is usually 10% on top of that, benefits are on top of that. I’m in the bottom end of injury CS pay scale.

So include benefits, and everything else you make 60k. In what backwards dystopia would you ever round up a salary lol.

$30k? No wonder you left. I make mid $60s in injury and feel underpaid.

Oh boy 1500 dollars, for a mid 30k salary a year job. Are they just adding a few points back to the review at this point? Lmao I’m so glad I left.
