Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Why be here?

The company doesn’t have anything unique about it. It sells overpriced goods to the elite, chic audience in metros. The ideology doesn’t resonate with the typical American consumer.

Popularity ratings show it is beaten by its competitors in almost all states except one metro in MN and one in CA out of a total of 200 metros. The stock is in shambles. Attrition rates are high. To top that there are secret layoffs happening now and again.

Where is the silver lining for younger folks, to put in golden years of their career? What is here that one can’t get elsewhere?

They think people will take selfies holding loaves of bread bought from a target store to flex how much cash they have.

Yes but is the damage to one’s psychological health worth it?

Here’s a good reason to stay a few years. Unless you are one of the chosen you will not get ahead no matter how well you do your job. But two or three years of experience here puts you at the top of the class in other companies. I’ve seen it happen to so many good people. Once they leave they shoot ip the ladder at other companies.
