Hiring Freeze...
Next up, layoffs. Especially when those targets aren't getting hit.
Michael Dell and the exec team didn't lay themselves off did they? Further, any grad student knows this is cyclical, so why layoff or freeze hiring? They don't save much by doing that, so it is done only to make it look like they are doing something for shareholders. It is all bullsh-t. If they wanted to truly cut expenses...they'd start at the top.
There’s definitely a hiring freeze until end of 2022. Applied for a sales job and was given a timeline for the initial phone interview and 2nd round interviews with a potential start date for October 31. On August 1 received an email saying everything is cancelled and to look again in 2023. But we’re not in a recession I’m told and everything is fine.
Just external ? Or internal also
Hiring freeze still active. Should have more info in the next day or so.
Is the hiring freeze over
wow, HR spreading rumors about layoff rumors
Any date given as to when external hiring returns ?
I’m in HR, and the external hiring freeze is legit. We were told it would end 7/11, but updated late yesterday that we are NOT clear to hire externally yet. No word on internal movement or a lay-off, but the rumors are flying.
yeah the freeze is real but the cuts are fake news
it is not fake news..there is a freeze. It's been announced. In data protection, there is currently an external freeze though internal move are still going on.
Fake news
What office or region?Nice to get a headsup.
Not fake news. I was informed it was coming in the next few weeks and the org I am in will most likely take a hit.
There is a freeze on external candidates only I believe
Yes, this is true, there is a freeze. I find it strange that they think things are going to change in the economy by July. Sort of like when they said we were taking two weeks off to see how Covid goes. We all know how that turned out. We could be in this soup until 2024
Not fake.
There's a pause until July by division executives to review business spending.
