Thread regarding Tesla, Inc layoffs

Laid off employees are the lucky ones

Musk has obviously lost his damn mind. He wants everybody to work 60+ hour weeks with no breaks, no vacations, no days off, and certainly no work from home. All of this for the same pay (the lower the better) - just like the "exemplary" employees in China do. You know, the desperate people who have no other choice if they want to survive. That's his ideal employee. If you got away from that, your situation can only improve.

Let me get my point right!!!! I don't think those who got RIFed were not working hard!!!
They worked 60+ hours but still.... that's unfair.

I bet he’d be happy with you working a full 40 hours but since you likely f-off for more than 50% of the time, asking for 60 hours doesn’t seem so bad.

Now is time to strike while the iron is hot. Need to insist on a employee-involvement safety program. And Elon, "there better be some meat on it! "

This downturn is artificial. Part of it was because the Ukrainian situation, part of it on part of companies who are trying to profit from it, part of it because of mismanagement that Trump started when he was weakening NATO emboldening Russia to manipulate the situation and take advantage.
The labour markets were very attractive for employees at the start of the year. Now we have a hawkish fed trying to artificially tighten the money supply excessively for the sake of some inflation control by creating demand destruction.
Musk was already very wealthy, the Twitter acquisition is just an obsession and ego booster for which he is overpaying and now he is busy squeezing everyone else so he can try and profit but the squeezed will not be getting any significant benefits while Musk seduced new gold digger actresses!

You have been a mindless slave for so long that you have forgotten what freedom is.
This artificial obsession with competition is just divide and rule tactics by the higher echelons. There is a lot of competition but a lot of it is unnecessary. Musk might have been the first on the scene, but others are also very innovative and catching up very soon. And will probably overtake Tesla too, be it Mercedez, BMW, GM, Ford or Toyota.
What we are observing is obsession with ad-hoc competition rather than cooperative facilitation where different groups share rather than all wasting their resources on reinventing of the wheel. Like we do with Panasonic.
Japan had a very cooperative non-exploitative work culture with high loyalty expectation to employees and vice versa. Hence the concept of jobs for life.
Musk wants a japanese employee like loyalty without but the privilege of reducing headcount when it pleases him!!

OP,
I disagree with you. You guys forgot the quote "freedom is not free". The ultimate freedom should be from hard working and endless chasing of excellent. The current U.S.A was built on top of this.
