Why are people suddenly talking about store closings and layoffs like it's a done deal? We're currently understaffed despite trying to hire and having one of the best starting pays in the area simply because there are not enough employees. Cutting anybody at this point would make no sense. I'm not even going to comment on store closings. C'mon people, be better than this.

Just a few or maybe even one keyboard cowboy. No inside scoop…. I remember back in the day there was sone pretty good intel to be found here.
It’s not fear mongering if it seems plausible given the circumstances. Besides Where you see fear, others see a warning of what’s to come in the future. Folks need time to plan an exit before the exit comes knocking on their door in the form of a layoff.
Given the 40% share drop , I Can imagine layoffs are inevitable. None of the competitors have had this degree of damage on nyse. 400000+ employees, 2000 stores require a lot of capital to run. If the capital runs out so does the capacity to support these numbers.
The salary distributions are public these days. People can judge if they are getting the best starting wages independently.
This is someone from the hr again
All sounds good till you see the balance sheet and realize 450000 people will demand salaries every month.
