We were told in a mass email quite a while back that the company would evaluate pay vs location. I was hired on living in a higher cost of living area so it wasn’t like I was hired on in Montana or Missouri then moved for context. I asked and asked but it’s another broken promise from leadership. Even in a division town hall our upper management is like “we know” when it comes to CoL vs our pay but they, in typical Assurant fashion, won’t do anything. Now I ask about how to turn in my notice of leaving do they ask what’s the matter. Flat out told them I can go work at Costco and make more money vs the lack of value Assurant places on my over 1 1/2 decades of experience I have in flood insurance. Plus I know at least 5 others in our small department that are about to leave. It’s taken over 5 years to finally fill the department at full staff but between system issues from our vendor, who I used to work for, who went unchecked until it started to cost us agents and insureds (we don’t sell directly). The damage has been done. I tried to tell them. Went brutally honest in the Peakon survey. We suck as a company.
