No, State Farm has a monopoly on people who are obsessed with the color of someone else's skin. That is EXACTLY how promotions are currently being determined. Skin color, gender (&/or gender identity) and who you know. It's a whole new world......

Regardless of where you stand on the GenderCool issue, hopefully you can at least appreciate the fact that Allstate’s leadership made a decision and STUCK WITH IT instead of caving like SF’s cowardly leadership did.

@2wem Funnily enough Allstate has kept their support of Gendercool, and has supported it for the past 4 years.

3bux+1hl2T9rZ Allstate was never a mutual but a wholly owned subsidiary or Sears, a stick company. But you point is still taken. Once they were spun off and sold it was the beginning of the end for both Allstate and Sears.

Allstate is a cautionary tale about allowing grifters to run a mutual, de-mutualize the company for their own benefit, and then abuse their workers and replace them with offshore $5k/year handlers at the expense of your customer.

While SF needs to evolve past its "Executives are at war with its claim handlers" mentality shared by some of the largest insurance companies, its a far cry from the absolute horrors Allstate puts its workers through.

Allstate was giving its handlers rounds of standardized testing, and then terminating those who did not preform well on their tests, and then had to try to rehire then 6 months later at reduced pay because turns out you need claim handlers at an insurance company.

Were bad but not that bad yet. State Farm is more a company that looks at a "Win" and then turns around and makes it a "loss" and chooses to ignore countless opportunities to foster goodwill with their claims handlers, while focusing only on "how much can we squeeze out the claim handlers to protect our pay and bonuses?"

Either way the industry as a whole seems to despise its core workforce of claim handlers, and treats them as unwanted necessities. Entire industry is going to really struggle over the next 10 years to find people willing to put up with the work.

As a oenophile I can see the previous poster is also ignorant regarding wines. Sour grapes do not make fine wines. They are used is small amounts only to otherwise provide a more nuanced taste. Please stick to something you know about.

"Sour grapes poster" does not know jack about some of the finest wines made. He/she would starve as a vintner. Everyone has something to offer if we were wise enough to listen and be inclusive. Trying to name call and downtalk creates a hostile environment. I don't agree with many things on this site but I see many things where there is ample room for improvement.

Most insurance companies use the same consultants selling the same "secret sauce."

I'm a 36 year agent at Allstate and am constantly amazed how similar the topics and posts are on this forum and ours...identical. Both companies are so desperate to improve the bottom line - that the employees are being sacrificed and therefore the companies themselves.
