Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

I call that layoff too

I would rather get laid off than go through what has been happening to me in recent months. Constantly, literally - every day, I have more and more work to do. My boss seems to be trying to make my job as difficult as possible and overload me with work.

We don't call it layoffs, but for me, any overload of an employee to the extent that he leaves the job because he can no longer stand it - is a perfidious kind of layoff.

Depends on the context here, if the boss wants you out, there is a formal less cumbersome process called PIP that can be triggered to legally chuck you out.

Thresholds for overloading are different for different individuals, different companies have different WLB. Note that there are no free lunches. You pay the price one way or the other.

There are many other companies where you would be working way more than tgt.
The issue comes up when you are the only person on your team doing all the work.
In which case changing jobs might be a good route in case you feel the company was unfair.

I am surprised in this sh-t company you actually found enough work worth doing.
