Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

Who's to blame for all this toxicity?

I don’t remember the workplace ever being more toxic than it is now. I will give notice soon because it's become unbearable.

It starts at the top. It starts with Randy. I think it's kind of funny how when a store struggles Randy blames the director but when a company struggles does he blame himself? Nope. Again, he turns it on directors. If you'll notice, it's always someone else's fault with him. If he comes up with an idea and it succeeds (which is rare) he sure knows how to pat himself on the back. If it fails, well..."the stores didn't execute it well enough". Narcissistic egomaniac. The stores that struggle are struggling because of their new walmart style of running stores. It's a cookie cutter approach and doesn't work for everyone. Hyvee used to be the best, but thanks to Randy that has changed.

Don’t worry about not doing well at store level. If you guys can’t figure it out at the stores randy will take care of the stores too. If you guys spent more time focused on your job than this website HyVee would be profitable.

What about your market grills, how profitable are they? You surely didnt think that through.Whats your sales per square foot. They sit empty,A million dollar sc--w up.A corporate sc--w up for sure. You need to figure out how to get people in these stores so we can execute your great ideas.REALLY,QUIT PASSING THE BUCK.

Maybe you should come work at store level in a store that's struggling and you can be in charge. Responsible for all profit and operations of that store. For let's say 3 quarters. If you can turn it profitable without gutting it so it would remain viable you would make believers out of us. No adding anymore labor, not that you can find any anyways. Dive in to actual store level day to day life and live it 70 hours a week in 2022 and find out for yourself. Only then will you understand. As they say walk a mile in our shoes. Randy wants you at store level because the office doesn't do anything anyway, right?

So what you are saying is that if you don’t like an idea you won’t give it a 100% effort? That’s the problem we have with HyVee store employees. We don’t need the store employees to think about if it’s a good idea. That’s HyVee leadership job. If we present a new idea at store level rest assure that we have made sure it was a great idea and super profitable. The only piece is the puzzle that keeps failing is the execution at store level. Store just keep failing because of the lack of effort.

Who are you kidding? You are totally out of touch and clueless. There are so many expenses built into these new stores that it's insurmountable. We're just not going to turn enough DSW, Basin, Joe Fresh, nail products, etc. to cover the cost of carrying the merchandise. Not enough employees to sell them because we're forced to cut hours. We can't sell enough meals in Wahlburgers to cover the expense. I give 101% to Hy-Vee until I have no more to give because I'm doing the work of 3. Don't give me that BS about giving 100% to Hy-Vee! Instead of cutting all the help how about cutting the sh-t, profit robbing sections, such as the ones listed above and filling the space with something that we can actually sell. Go back to your little corporate rock you hide under figure it out and actually give us a viable profit plan. If we think it will work we'll get behind it and execute it perfectly.

Let not blame Randy for everything. If the store would just turn a profit. HyVee wouldn’t be in this position. Before you blame randy maybe you should look in the mirror and ask yourself have you gave a 100% for HyVee. If you didn't give a 100 % you are to blame for the poor performance of the stores. Under performing employees just drag the company down.

It's been slowly building starting about 10 years ago, but the asinine "Burn the Ships" restructuring, courtesy of Randy Edeker, really brought it to a rolling boil. Things have been fu---d up ever since with no improvement in sight. It screwed a lot of people over including our store directors. When you do that to your top shelf associates it only causes an organization to rot from the inside out. Nice job on the us vs. them culture, Randy. Yes, this is on you.
