Thread regarding NCR Corp. layoffs

What's the average pay in Serbia?

How much does a software engineer earn there? It'd be nice to know exactly how much NCR saves by outsourcing our jobs. I've heard some numbers, but considering that we're not talking about India but Europe, it's hard to believe they're true (less than $20,000 is what I heard).

We pay around 800 usd per month. NCR gets large amount from government subsidized to keep jobs. However salary increase when job changes no not possible, they feel mistreated there. Therefore overtime pay is given by many managers and in many cases ppl will just stay or come late to write overtime which is of course not correct but I do understand the attitude, many women work there as the maternity leave is a year in Serbia, health insurance is good. Attrition is higher lately as NCR pays way less the competitors who start a hub in Serbia. Most people work at foreign companies as the local ones are more corrupt.

Corporate NCR has no clue. I remember when our team job was sent to India. We had a team that did hardware and software for a few account. I remember when this happens and I asked how are they going to be successful doing this? I ask my bosses boss a few questions, basically what I got hardware is hardware and they Microsoft certified they work out fine. I left it at that. Weeks go by and she stops by to how the collaboration was with the new folks. I said harder that you could imagine. She asked if it was a language barrier, I said thats doable. She ask then why it hard they get it eventually. My reply was Microsoft certification has nothing to do with Sco Unix.

Can’t compare salary like that , for one they let go in the us they hire two or three as replacements.
If it’s India it may be 3 or 4. I part of a team of 4 and that job went to India a team of 12. I was lucky moved to another position but I still had to take escalation calls from India.
So yes they are saving money, but it’s no 1 to 1 ratio. I was from level 2 and a team lead. I saw the numbers. Our output was at least 3 times there’s. So I don’t see them save really anything but alittle money. Here Ncr had dedicated employees overseas all the have short timers who. But I assume that’s what Ncr wanted, cheap revolving labor workforce. I’m sure ncr didn’t like my 4 weeks paid vacations and what was it 7 pa days a year

No there not kidding it cheaper. Serbian employees pay a percentage of pay for healthcare. If your unemployed of course you pay nothing. But er visits and ambulance cost are zero. For all! Even tourists. You pay nothing. Its not Apples to Apples.

Anyway f.u. Ncr ya cheap a--hats

In 2018 Upper management told me with salary and all benefits it cost $100,000 USD a year for average US worker and only $30,000 USD for India or Serbia. So that saves the company $70,000 a year per person to off shore the job. No wonder US jobs have all moved out of the US.

Had a team of 12 in serbia back in 2018. Paid them about 20k each. Resources in India were cheaper, 12-15k.

Outsourcing is only beneficial if the employee and their Govt allow you you exploit their workers. India and Serbia Govt officials are good for this and I'm sure get kick backs.

Quick google search shows $16,170 per year or $1,347.5 per month or $310,96 per week and finally $7.77 per hour. We can not beat that!

Well you have to consider all cost’s to really get a fair assessment. Ya know like housing food medical etc. if your really going to compare.
I would like to see OP salary it would only be fair. If this turns into a discussion.
