Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

How far are we from major cuts?

My biggest fear is losing my job before I find another opportunity for myself.

Are you sure we are far from layoffs? Heard rumors about layoffs already happening some corners of the company.

The supply chain would also benefit from store closures in a majority of the US. Might just turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

There are over 1900 stores in the USA including states like Alabama and Kentucky, where no one gives two sh--s about chic overpriced garbage.

Realistically outside of two metros, target has failed to make any kind of impact. That accounts for a whole lot of stores. Even reducing 80% of the stores would not hurt the revenue as much and would look good on the balance sheets. Stockholders love layoffs and it immediately shows on NYSE.

Besides outsourcing tech jobs might be a good strategy to save some dollars too, multiple companies in the same boat have started doing that.

I think they should be here any minute now, given the 50% reduction market cap over the last ones year or so. 450000 is a huge number of people to support.
