Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

Work health Randy!

Why aren't cashier's allowed to sit? The German competition Aldi's allows them to sit. If a cashier or customers service employee leans on a counter, a Manager "Of" yells at them. Working in a standing position on a regular basis can cause sore feet, swelling of the legs, varicose veins, general muscular fatigue, low back pain, stiffness in the neck and shoulders, and other health problems.
Health experts recommend 30 minutes in your feet, them sitting for a bit. Having a tall chair or stool doesn't affect your ability to be a cashier. Randy is talking about work life balance, how about work health. How about making the job enjoyable. How about getting rid of the bully managers. I think this company is going under, but can we just sit a bit until it does? Sadly, I can't ask a director or CEO, without getting in trouble.

You really want to go there???????
At Aldi the Cashier hold just about every position in the store. Im sure the ones we hire for cashiers will want to fill dairy eggs milk meat produce and or stock shelves when there not being a cashier. Heck most of our cashiers dont want to d anything else other than talk on there phone if there not busy. Our store tried to get the cashier to just take care of candy on there lane and condition straighten the endcaps in front oof there registers and they said thats noot what they were hired to do.
Aldi is LEAN do we really want to see Hyvee that LEAN. If we do go that route Hyvee better drop there prices by 20% casue no one will shop there because there prices are so high even now.
Just my 2 cents

Because for a lot of people at the top, sitting is seen as lazy. Aldi has just figured out the average shopper really doesn't care about a sitting cashier
