Thread regarding Broadcom Corp. layoffs

VMW asking Broadcom Director level.

The broadcom guy post in the VMW section was awesome. It dealt with most employee scenarios. And we all know the C level and Sr VP level are taken care of (accelerate RSU vest, change of control cash, and the big RSU dump them gave themselves a month before the announcement).

but what about a level down? Director seems to be hit hard in these acquisitions with flattening of the management tree. If they are cut what has the severance looked like? any accelerated RSU vests to help get through the transition? anyone with real world knowledge of how Director/Sr Directors have been handled in the past?

Sure we have RSUs (and probably more than an "average" employee. but its not the millions that our leadership is getting... he-l I only have about 300K that vest over the next 4 years. I am not retiring off of that like the VPs will even if they accelerated all the RSUs...

Thoughts?

Gotta love how only now people complain about the wild inequities in pay in tech.

"You may move down and do a manager’s job" yes true. But you will also get a better comp and a new and bigger RSU package.

You may move down and do a manager’s job. Would you bite the bullet?
Initially tastes like chilli, but once you get used to, it will give you so much energy that you won’t wanna stop.

Wow... Wouldn't it be nice to have RSU's. Only 300k over 4 years? That is more than the mortgage for my house that I will be paying for the next 20 years. Would be nice for the normal people to have something to help us get through the transition too...
