Thread regarding Norfolk Southern Corp. layoffs

Experienced employees suffer a lot of pressure

The more experience employees have the more pressure they feel. There are many reasons why employees with great experience are "problematic" for NS, but the leadership needs to think about what chaos might arise as more and more such people leave.
Who will help the new hires get started here? Some of them who came here recently neither know the job nor want to learn it.

Experience pays well on the job market. NS currently does not care or value experience. Your “experience” in their eyes is the old fashion way that limits profits. NS will “think outside the box” with new ideas until they make a giant loop and start right where they began. Whenever they realize this is when they will stop wasting resources reinventing the wheel and truly maximize shareholder returns.

Management is inexperienced all they know is discipline. They put pressure on the lead men etc because they don’t know their own job enough to do it right, and if they did come from a craft they were useless and thats why they’re managers. Don’t get me wrong there’s a few out there that are ok and decent, but few and far between and the good ones never stick around. Upper management are sl--e.
