Thread regarding Giant Eagle layoffs

Does Anyone Know………

Does anyone know if Giant Eagle corporate employees are currently back working in the office or are they still working from home? I currently work in a retail location as a salary leader and the price of gas is ki----g me. If corporate employees are still working from home I sure hope they had to take a pay cut since they don’t have to pay for gas and no wear or tear on the car

The comment about store leads making 40k, even a few years ago, is way off.
I am a front end senior team lead, and when I started ten years ago, I started at $46k. I’m currently up to $70k and my store lead makes about $90k.

$40,000 for a store manager sounds a bit low. Does anyone know the pay rates for different managers? Store CO HR Front end produce grocery ECT

Giant Eagle's pay for salaried managers will break you regardless of how much gas prices are, lol! The last time I worked for the company (I quit back in 2019), the store managers were making something like $40,000/year, lol, while other companies were paying their store managers $55,000-$65,000/year. Had most of our managers not been married and had a working spouse, they wouldn't have been able to own that nice house, car, etc. with the pay Giant Eagle was paying them.

Pay cut?? I bet corporate employees get a bigger raise then the 2% raise retail salary employees get every year

Giant eagle got rid of the majority of corporate office space a couple years ago. They ended that lease so fast!

Almost every single corporate employee still works from home and will continue to do so. Just some info. I no longer work for GE thank god

If you have a long commute and the gas price is hurting you the best advice I can give you is the next time your at work go to your Store Leaders office. As soon as you walk in the office turn to the left a talk to the wall that is directly in front of you.
