Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Our store is one big mess

Never before, and I’ve been working here for almost seven years, has the store been a bigger mess. It's getting harder and harder to keep a fake smile on my face.

I'm wondering if there are any stores where some improvements are noticeable, or are they all mostly going for the worse?

My store just fired our store director after working for target for 12 years-as if it is his fault things at the store are falling apart and not corporates. Corporate only gives every store a certain amount of hours per payroll
So our store cut hours
This was at the same time we started receiving double the amount of inventory for months
So cut employee hours , send double the amount of inventory, and expect employees to do twice the work for same pay
By the way which is not $24 an hour like Target tries to claim- that’s a joke
I work in a suburb of Chicago where living is not cheap and even McDonald’s by me starts at $15 which is same as Target!!
And $15 an hour for working my job in GM3 while also getting thrown into flex, backing up check out, running to call buttons and kissing guests butts, doing reshop, pushing truck, pulling out of stocks, pulling one for ones, also setting aisles because target trying to cut cost and get rid of POG employees

Our backrooms are constantly filled to the brim now and unsafe
No where to even backstock-
Hard to unload truck with backrooms bombarded with inventory and no one to push because lack of hours
There is nothing any SD can do to change what corporate is doing to its stores
When I started Target was running like a well oiled machine- it has gone really downhill

Supporting 1900 stores is not a joke. The supplier chain issues, maintenance issues, recruiting, IT is tough. Given the dismal performance I think a majority of stores will be closed, and along with that there will be massive layoffs.

Our toilets have been stinking for the past year. I don’t mind not replacing light bulbs, just send in a janitor once in a while.

Quality of the stores have drastically reduced over time. Looks like they cut janitorial and maintenance budgets.

My local targets sign have a blown out bulbs for the letters A,R,G so the sign reads TET. This has been the case for a couple of years now.

Stores with lesser foot traffic would be more likely to be axed given the stock price. If you can, try to somehow ship shape the store to get it in respectable condition, else you’ll see heavy layoffs.

Our store has massive layoffs coming up soon. This has been the case with other stores with lesser foot traffic too.
