Thread regarding Sungard Availability Services layoffs

I received another "my last day" email

There seems to be less and less of those who think there is a future in this company?

There is no future at that company, unless you are an asset that can be sold...

There is a flood of both last day voluntary departures here in the US (as there were in the UK prior), and lots of last day I was let go updates in the UK. Keep in mind the Chapter 11 in the US that followed the UK's going into Administration was only about two weeks apart. If you're still there in the US, there's a good chance one will be under the same circumstances as those in the UK very shortly. When it does, don't be surprised. It's a little late in the game to take action, but as that very silly business book title says: Hope Is Not A Strategy. Taking action now is a little late in the game, but it's still better than waiting to see if you're going to be let go because any random company or companies buy all or parts of the business and has to decide if they're going to keep you. Better off letting some new company that decision and for better money and a better opportunity going forward.

Hahaha a future for SG.. I left in 2014 knowing there was no future. When you have no willingness to invest you aren’t going to win against major cloud players
