Thread regarding Barnes & Noble layoffs

I left BN for a job at a warehouse

This was two months ago. I haven't regretted that decision yet.

NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO WORK FOR A CORPORATION AS DISGUSTING AS BARNES & NOBLE!

When I was fired in 2018
I was told I couldn’t work for another bookstore or Amazon ( I forget for how many months) I was threatened that I wouldn’t get my severance if I didn’t sign. So, I signed. Told them if they were firing me they had no say where I worked. Was told you’ll be sued for return of the severance and breach of what I signed. I told them I’ll work wherever I want and if sued I would contact every news outlet with my story. Went to work for another book chain, NEVER heard boo from Barnes.
It’s all posturing, all talk.

If you went to Amazon, you were probably better off quitting both jobs. Amazon treats their employees worse than BN ever will, just FYI. Also, down with BN.

Curious what you think the difference is really? Both jobs require no special training or education, so I find it somewhat interesting that someone might think that being around books somehow elevates their job selling them as something other than it is.

Which should tell you enough about how bad things were at BN.
