Thread regarding HP (Hewlett-Packard) layoffs

No CTO org anymore

From what I heard, the whole CTO organisation is cut. People and teams are moved in BUs. Is that true?

Has there been any more news on this?
Tolga (CTO) seems to still have a job.

Labs of late was a back stubbing woke nepotism ridden university campus transplant. Good riddance.

Committing to shareholder returns and buyback shares while cutting hc and cost had been the playbook for many years. Those that benefits are the C suite folks since compensation mainly from share awards. No different from how mark Hurd way of running the company except in a more sneaky way.

Enrique also did an excellent job dodging the question during our All Hands meeting last week on how many are getting let go.

I don't know about you but I would rather know the answer to that question rather than having surprises. The latter seems less moral.

I didn't hear about it but it wouldn't surprise me. Budget is on thin ice yet we're getting pressured by our directors and VPs to file IPs and funnel items, when there's hardly any budget for investigations and to defend our disclosures. It's the biggest double standard in the company. I feel like our higher ups are giving us the bird and basically saying, "Go figure it out... and before you even think about getting a sample from a supplier, you better talk with procurement and legal to get that NDA approved."

yes no cto or labs. people are being moved but only some, rest being laid off. they really messed up on how they communicated and handled this.
