Thread regarding Lumen Technologies layoffs

Watching the piles of work grow

If the management thinks that the employees here will do the work for 2 or even 3 people and that it can go on like that, then the management is very wrong. I have more and more obligations, but I don't care at all because I think I will soon find a way to exit here. I'm afraid that in the end, only managers will remain here and no one to actually do all the work...

It's insane in our area too. We get continual calls which 95% are not for our area. We have to work troubles along with the constant calls and keep up with metrics and they throw more stuff at us with little or no training or time to get up to speed, the he-l with it. It wears one to the bone. Maybe another round of cuts will take place in January and I'll be on the list.

I'm with you OP. The workload is unmanageable. They hire new contractors to do the same job as actual employees and PAY THEM MORE! That bs! I temper my workload as they treat employees like saves. No other word for it. Workload is off the chain. Very disheartening when you do work hard and a single slacker derails the train.

Overloaded with executives that do not have a clue what it takes to run a telecom company. CenturyLink merged with Level 3 and has gone down hill since. CenturyLink management replaced by Level 3 who owned three different companies with three different databases and then added CenturyLink for a fourth database for technicians to navigate. Storey wrecked the merged company such that they had to come up with a new name. No matter what you call the company bad upper management is bad upper management. If the board truly wants to recover from this mess, hire H. Brian Thompson instead of another CEO who is good at wrecking companies. Brian has been successful wherever he has gone. You might have to work hard to get him to take on this dog of a company. Employees and customers have suffered at the expense of the "leadership".
