Thread regarding Barnes & Noble layoffs

I'm sorry for what happened to this company

I know a few people who are still here and I hear information from them that the company is getting closer to rock bottom.

This is not at all surprising, it could have been predicted several years ago that a steep decline would follow, leading to a huge loss of market share.

I am now in another company, but I still often wonder if B&N could have done something to prevent this kind of decline?

Rotten culture. Heard a manager got punched out by a bookseller in NYC. Bet the manager is still employed.

It's very rare that you see young people reading books, and how long have cell phones been around now?
It really is amazing BN is still around in the time of TikTok.

I buy direct from the publisher, mostly Penguin Random House. They have a massive selection and their books never get damaged in transit. Sc--w BN and Amazon. Down with BN.

The delivery of books is getting more and more dynamic and creative. Book club services may very well take over physical book delivery while over the top services like kindle unlimited may take over digital. Barnes and Noble is not keeping up and with independents gaining momentum again why would anyone go into a Barnes and Noble?
