Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

They apparently fixed the issue but not a good look. That aside, Larry also stated about 7 years ago that Oracle was going to beat AWS.

What's one problem we know about, How many more are out there that haven't yet seen the light of day?

LE has had a history of talking big, You are not supposed to remember from 7 years back.

Could be he’s just lying. He does that a lot. Could be the suck ups under him are lying to him. May be they are just telling him what he wants to hear. Either way I expect it will not happen.

All these partnerships and BS about multi-cloud is really Oracle knowing where they stand. It is the white flag. It is also why I believe there will be a mass of cloud people and especially in sales looking for jobs because they are going to get riffed IMO. It might not happen this year but I expect next year to be brutal. They don't have a clue what is about to hit them. There is no market for OCI really. Most were basically forced in contracts or kickbacks from support and the companies never use it. Oracle will be a database provider and you see that happening. The issue is they are going to have a lot of competition now.

Maybe they will change their minds given the recently publicized security breach?

"Hey Mr. Customer, guess what? Any customer in your datacenter can mount your data drives with full privileges and have a field day with your company's crown jewels!, but don't worry because OCI is a market leading cloud platform!"
