@4jfr+1iRuCzxd From what I understand, FB projects their revenue to drop by a few billion compared to last year, not 60-70%. The profits are down, but that's because they are heavily investing in the metaverse. I still don't understand why a company making so much money needs to layoff people instead of keeping calm, at least for few more years, unless if they see no recovery.

@faq+1iRuCzxd Thank you for listing all the factors that went into the Macroaxis analysis. But you do realize that "having difficulty meeting its current financial obligations towards its creditors" is something all individuals and corporations that declare bankruptcy have in common, right?

Just how does this happen?

Well, if you are company which sells shoes it is very unlikely that in downturn year that you will sell 50 percent less shoes than in previous year. People will still buy almost the same amount of shoes. While the ad business is very volatile and can drop by 60-70 percent easily in bad year. As a result if ad business is your bread and butter you need a lot more cache to protect yourself against downturns than if you sell shoes.

Just how does this happen? From the outside world, it seems like FB and Google are swimming in cash. We're always told that the ad business is almost 100% profit. Their profits are double or triple of what large companies make in revenue. Where is all this money going? Are these companies that mismanaged that they can't weather this market?

Well Google's probability of bankruptcy is higher than that of Meta:

Facebook will continue to shed people due to its censorship.

FB owns this forum.. They remove everything they do not like.

The Probability of Bankruptcy SHOULD NOT be confused with the actual chance of a company to file for chapter 7, 11, 12, or 13 bankruptcy protection. Macroaxis simply defines Financial Distress as an operational condition where a company is having difficulty meeting its current financial obligations towards its creditors or delivering on the expectations of its investors. Macroaxis derives these conditions daily from both public financial statements as well as analysis of stock prices reacting to market conditions or economic downturns, including short-term and long-term historical volatility. Other factors taken into account include analysis of liquidity, revenue patterns, R&D expenses, and commitments, as well as public headlines and social sentiment.
