Why do I think that leadership pays less and less attention to what consumers actually want? Anyone else?

They never cared about what our customers wanted they just wanted something they would buy
We would be selling low cost print texts If we really cared about the consumer and created products based on evidence. There is study after study showing people retain more information and are less stressed when reading a printed text vs an etext. A sizable percentage of students would prefer paper texts vs etexts if the pricing were comparable. I understand our decisions are market driven but it’s laughable that we keep talk about being focused on the consumer. Our products and support would be drastically different if we were.
Come on? You are just now figuring this out? That stuff ended in the mid 1980's when it became a fight for survival against used books and then the internet. True publishing gentlemen and gentlewomen who actually cared are dead and buried. Seriously. They are ALL gone.
It's all about eeking out a living and not getting fired. A terrible way to exist.
