The emails all said something to the effect of, “…in the coming weeks those leaders will pick their teams…”. Does that mean layoffs will happen within the next couple of weeks?

Welp, wasn't the 17th. Guessing it'll be the 25th, just based on wanting to get it done with before the Q3 financial presentation...

Sorry but the 17th wasn’t told to a whole lot of people so might not be a good idea to say which refinery.
Apparently the delay is due to a number of large Turnarounds currently being carried out and the ELT not wanting to release bad news before they’re finished.
Was also told that they want to make all announcements before 3Q earnings call on 11/1.
Which refinery is announcing layoffs on the 17th?
I have been told that my business unit will be making the announcement on Monday 17th. This came direct from refinery manager.

Haha 9/80s, only four years too late! COP moved fast on them when employees voiced their opinion years ago. Only when things get really bad do management make a change, and in this case costs then nothing. Being di-ks for the sake of it!
9/80 policy rolls out tomorrow. I'm betting there's major moves this week using that QOL improvement as distraction...
Seriously disappointed to see how little of the upper structure is changing as a result of BT so far. I recall one of the global town halls right near when Uncle Greg was handing over the torch and there was a question about the timing of the transformation. Lashier (I think? Might have been Erfert that took the question) gave this line about how if we don't change now, activist investors will come in, replace all the ELT and force change.
Thought that was about the least compelling argument I've ever heard...
Let's be honest. The layoffs will happen when the executives want them to happen. The company is in this mess because the executives can't make proper decisions. They then decide to do AE66, which failed, then now business transformation, which will also fail. All this was instituted by the executives. When will they realize that there is a consistent theme here. They think they are the smartest people in the room but in actuality they are the making money in spite of themselves. They are all drinking the same juice. If you really want business transformation lets fire the decision makers that screwed up AE66.

I think the dust will be settled by late October. The company gave itself a month to cull the heard but that doesn’t mean they’ll wait to the last minute.
Just lovely, the possibility of job loss headed into the holidays. Not because there’s a real and urgent need for reductions, eg the company is teetering towards bankruptcy, but because management completely botched AE66 and now the rest of the organization has to pay the price. I presume management won’t see any reductions in support or compensation though. They’ll expect more from less.
I’ll be interested to see of the remaining employees, what the SGL mix and merit looks like, I assume lower for both. He-l, even throw in some demotions too, just to save $15k per employee. Thanks for working though Covid (aka forced back into the office), record inflation, now you no longer have a job for Christmas. Exemplary work ELT, really demonstrating OEIA lol!
