Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

In case anybody was looking for motivation to keep trying - this won't do it

Glad to see this, especially since it's only been a few weeks since my manager told me I would not be getting a raise AGAIN this year. Man I love it that the work is the reward itself! I've sure gotten a raise in amount/complexity of work every year.

Good times.

Yeah but the high quality of life as an Oracle employee makes it all worthwhile!

The work gets more complex firstly because of the high attrition rate and secondly, and ironically, because Oracle suffers from having many so disparate systems and no consistent way of managing and sharing all our data and processes. If you dare try to get any work done there's always a new policy you must first abide by, a ticket you must submit, an approval that you can't get, a password you need to reset or a ring you need to return to Mordor. It never ends.

But back to your main point, yes it's a joke. Imagine how much happier and productive we could all be if they just invested 1% of that into initiatives that need proper backing.
