Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

Just confirmed layoffs

We have just been informed in the UK there could be upto 50% of UK staff being made redundant. My line manager has just announced this and suggested we start applying for new roles. Not great news but expected. This will be across the board and sales will be hit. Also been informed the Global team is to be dissolved.
Such a great company ruined.

UK has been hit first because they are one of the highest paid , Ireland is next, sorry folks. If you get laid off and getting a severance package consider yourself lucky. Company will be sold off, it cannot raise cash and will not survive. Investors want the 600 million back, lawsuits will be filed, if that happens avaya will have no cash. Ask yourself that If you have no cash and no one gives you credit to purchase items, what happens next? Company is done for. They destroyed a good company, billions of dollars in debt and revenue way down.

Not enough in the UK. 1 week for every year, but this can be standard of £108 per year. Hopefully Avaya will pay more,

Not unexpected, it’s easy to see that even if only 25% were axed, another round will follow shortly after. This business has been driven to self destruction by a toxic leadership culture and dubious accounting!

How much severance does a UK employee get? Around how many UK employees will this affect? Curious to see how much of the 11 million set aside for layoffs will be used for uk.
