Interesting to see the pics from the NSM and the money the company spent -- I'm just curious, do you all think McGraw Hill is the whitest sales force you have every seen? My goodness every group pic looked like pics of them from the old South.

@5Kcqv+1id2Zrj2 I used to report directly to your CSO at Cengage and recognize everything you are describing. Her opinion was the only correct opinion and she steamrolled anyone and everyone who got in her way. I can't imagine what she must be like now that she has all the power that she has always craved. She was the most ruthlessly ambitious person I have ever worked with.
The MGH NSM pictures on LinkedIn are hilarious. It looks like a Rodan and Fields convention. Lots and lots of blonde women preening for the camera in front of perfectly staged backdrops. "Red Cube Proud" and "Next Level" are extremely generic, obnoxious slogans even by the standards of this industry.
When your CSO constantly brings conservative religion into presentations, says things like “I’m the least racist person ever, I had a black boyfriend in college”, questions if MHE DEI encourages “reverse racism”, and touts the Chick fil A founder as a role model…. Yes. MHE is the whitest, straightest company you will ever work for.
It been almost a year since we finally got rid of "IM" Chief of Sales and "LW" VP NE Sales. I think the organization is in a much better place. What do you think?
McGuin and the head of all the cronies Wildes, I'm sure will fail in their new roles or in life in general. KARMA can be satisfying especially when you get to see it in real time.
Diversity may finally happen now that our sales Leader "IM" and her crony "LW" have exited the organization. I believe it will make us better organization. These two ra--d the company of $$$$ Large salaries, Large expense reports, First class flights, etc.... etc... etc... Unbelievable they were able to Ra-e McGraw for 10 years. Don't let the door hit you or my foot as we kick you out .. Best decision Robin has ever signed off on.
I used to work directly with your new CSO. She is....something.
Publishing NSM's are d-mb in general for all departments especially sales/marketing--agree with the last posts. It's an expensive costs for what--drinking out of a firehose type learning, bu-t-kissing to the hire ups...and only to forget about everything the following week. The strategies to winning deals have not changed in 20 years, Editions have not changed, the technology is still full of bugs, and higher education still moves as a snails pace. Please stop this useless week of overeating, heavy drinking, bu-t grabbing, and throat-cutting.
NSMs are the most ridiculous and embarrassing spectacle in our industry. A week of bloat, excess and self-congratulation that the marketing department uses to justify their existence.
