Belk to possibly change return policy

belk’s losing tons of money in shipment costs with its extremely high rate of returns. tens of thousands of belk orders get partially returnd or fully returned. Smaller belk stores, and slower low traffic belk stores particularly in rural areas have seen returns exceed sales numbers or high double digit return percentages. Most customers “binge shop” and bulk return orders. belk is looking at possibly amending the return policy some way but nothing certain thus far.

actually this is normal practice i do the same at kohls i hate it but its really needed sometimes but that is why we have a 6 month return policy

I am an stm and have been for a long time and right after we returned from covid we had signs thru out the store and at every register, No receipt or no tags, no return. I wish we could go back to that, my job should not be trying to find upc numbers for the clothes you have ripped the tags off (possibly wore) and bring back with no receipt and not on a credit card. We spend to much time making customers happy for the inconvenience they put on us. Wisen up and realize Belk you are being scammed and allowing it to happen. Stolen items are being returned everyday and we smile and hand them a gift card for the lowest price sold. Omg wisen up

If they would change their return policy for no receipts it would save them so much money. The only company I know that allows people to bring back items without a receipt and sometimes without the tags and put the lowest price on a gift card. Stolen or not who does that?? If you want to save money run the company like successful companies do and not allow theives to return products for a gift card.
