Thread regarding Caterpillar Inc. layoffs

Due diligence

Hello all, I’m on here doing some due diligence for myself as well as some of my team members. We currently work for a certain oil company who’s in the process of a very massive but silent downsizing, and their headcount reduction tactic is basically make the job as awful as possible in hopes of “natural attrition” anyway the point of this post is to see how caterpillar is as a company. There is a few very large Cat dealerships and sites in our area (northeast USA) that are offering pretty large signing bonuses and we are just curious how morale and the day to day mood is as whole? How are technical/ hands on folks treated compared to the professional side? Salary increase frequency? Just an overall report on is it a good company to work for or not?

Caterpillar Dealerships are not Caterpillar Inc.

If you work for a Caterpillar Dealership you're working for that Dealership and will be dealing with the culture of that specific dealer.

I can't speak for the assembly line workers, or even all divisions of Caterpillar, but the one I currently work in has a great work culture- They remind us to take time off, They want us to have a healthy work/life balance Salary-Bonuses can be yearly depending on what you do and where you're at within the company.

But this is speaking for Caterpillar Inc not the dealerships, which again- Are going to vary based on which dealer it is.
