Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

The Oracle Emperor Has No Clothes....

LE is still calling all the shots and his leadership team is afraid to tell him the truth. They let him deny cloud for seven years while AWS grew right in front of his eyes and now he is clueless. Renaming Oracle World to Cloud World will not solve anything. The only OCI cloud customers are those whowere still in Oracle jail with on-prem apps and servers doing a lift and shift. No new customer would start in OCI. Slow death unless the people around him get bold, but they are making high compensation and are scared to challenge him.

Embarrassing to have him still being our spokesperson-has he no self awareness? I guess when you have that much $$$ you can do what you want, but you can’t buy respect.

How can someone like this sleep at night? Employees are just transactions to Oracle...

@8gxq+1j2llGor Not to also mention:

  • Acquiring PeopleSoft and creating a ton of drama to go with it.
  • Abusing the citizens of Lanai after he bought 98% of the island (BusinessWeek wrote extensively about this).
  • Buying tons and tons of houses while hosing his employees.
  • Getting in on that weird Twitter acquisition with Elon Musk.
  • Getting cozy with DJT, especially around TikTok.
  • Buying Sun for way too much money when it wasn't meaningful anymore.

His legacy is he made a bunch of money and treated those around him like cr-p. Sad plus he missed the biggest industry opportunity ever and denied cloud.

Tell me he is not speaking at CloudWorld. How tone deaf can Oracle get. Cloud denier for years finally got religion. Why would I listen to him?

On my retirement day the first thing I’ll do is take a shower and try to forget I worked here for 25 years.

Yeah, a nice hot shower with lots of soap to wash the stench off!! Oracle is a massive embarrassment on my resume. A huge mistake!

How can they let LE stand up and say AWS customers are moving to OCI? A few exceptions but this is total BS. Nobody in the industry even listens to him. They just roll their eyes. I’m embarrassed to be part of Oracle. If I wasn’t so close to retirement I’d go to a real cloud company. On my retirement day the first thing I’ll do is take a shower and try to forget I worked here for 25 years.

I thought the whole “dissent and you are railroaded out” theme was a bit exaggerated.

Then I had a chance to catch up with a former O colleague manager who was RIF’’d after a dispute with HR over a direct report. Clearly, it was a retaliatory action. They didn’t try to hide that. HR doesn’t like it when a manager stands up for an employee. In this case, a long term, very successful and well liked employee who was a pillar of the team.

O would rather burn the whole house down than fix the broken window.

Don’t trust this company in its current config, current BoD and current management.

They don’t know what they are doing.

They only know how to work the same old tired rusty creaky levers to produce the same poor , industry TRAILING result.

I've worked for a number of companies and can honestly say I've never seen as many "yes people" as at Oracle.

Why bother? Nobody will listen, challenging any decision or opinion will get a big target on your back and the only change you would make is probably your employment status. Since they are unable to make any change for the better, why bother even making the effort? I guarantee you if you ask these people anonymously, they will give you this answer. It starts at the top, LE and SC HATE being challenged, they are infallable and their word is law. They are the pope and cardinal in the cult of Oracle. Dissent means excommunication.

So most people go with the flow, yes them all day long and collect their paycheck. They don't care, they genuinely do not care. They won't do anything unethical, but they sure won't stick their necks out to help.

I've worked for a number of companies and can honestly say I've never seen as many "yes people" as at Oracle. They are all afraid to challenge Larry and let him get away with things like calling it "The Self Driving Database" when it takes a lot of work to make it perform. None of the employees or customers want to hear him speak, but he is the still the front man. It is basically his company so he can do and say what he wants, just sad to see so many yes zombies taking their pay check afraid to tell him what they really think. That is why Oracle denied cloud for so long. So glad I am out of this depressing sink ho-e. You would think he would retire with as much money as he has.

I think there is going to be big surprise, very soon. My guess is, it will start in Atlanta.
I honestly thought Oracle would have cleaned that mess up and cooperated with the authorities to minimize the damages. The handwriting is on the wall. There is proof in the pudding. Better to hand over the guilty that orchestrated the patent fraud filing, change mgmt business model, get internal control procedures in place and bring in true leadership consultants.
Being proactive could avoid an investigation and would do wonders to stock price.
No one wants anything but the best for ORACL, certainly no harm only, justice to the one that has done great harm to Oracle, the original inventor, his career and his family.

Ignoring things that are not going to go away will take the stock price right on down to the same level as the low-lifes that over paid themselves to manage but, instead have done much harm to Oracle, employees, customers and shareholders.
It's time to wake-up.

Don’t be so sure. The outer casing is already removed. Time is short.

I don't know. I've seen companies 1/10th this size stagger around for years before finally kissing the dirt. Could go either way, you may be spot on. But let's face it, these frauds have all made more than enough money that they don't care and don't have to worry.

The Emperor and the Queen give themselves pay raises so they can buy more houses, yachts, and planes while they lay off thousands of peasants during a recession. Not sure how they can sleep at night? #GreedIsGood

So true - anyone at Oracle knows this but nobody will speak up. Like robots running around in circles….

You speak up, you end up at the bottom of the guillotine. Since you are overpaid and don't have much work to really do, why spoil a good thing by getting yourself clipped? By the time it hits the spinning turbine, you'll probably be long gone.

Truly, anyone with superior intelligence can see the wonderful material, the expert tailoring, the exquisite pattern. We can all agree that it is an amazing suit!

Only a stOIC would disagree!
