Thread regarding Lumen Technologies layoffs

Stock Investors in Denial

I frequently go to Yahoo LUMN stock to see the stock conversations. Be sure to pull down and select Newest Conversations. I consistently see investors say to hold on because LUMN stock its going to soar. Using Yahoo, I can click on the stock chart and go back 5 years or more and see that LUMN stock has been below 12 dollars since 2019. That's three straight years of LUMN stock below $12 or Below $10. Now holding $6.30. Why do these investors think this stock will double or triple with this 3-yr consistence drag? And (now) no dividend and less assets. Are they in denial?

The new CEO appears to be bringing a lot of 'hope and change' to Lumen.

Her first meeting with employees started with a 15 minute production including a song by owl city and a video showing how women, minorities, lgtbtq+ can do anything and we (at LUMEN) ARE the 4th industrial revolution.

Lumen is Woke.

They've not sold off any of SAVVIS, they've laid them off or watched them leave due to company instability, lack of growth, off shoring of jobs, no US backfills and of course no raises. A VP recently slipped up in a meeting stating that JS was ousted by the board. Let's hope that KJ can start to right some the wrongs of JS. Reinstating yearly raises will immediately resonate with the employee base and would be a good move for her in the eyes of those of us who are still around and have not left, yet. My prediction is that she was brought in to lead the band playing on the deck as the ship continues to sink.

Most of Lumen is made up of US West/Qwest. They have sold off Century Link, Embarq, Savvis and a good chunk of L3. Using Qwest as the benchmark then have now had 22 years where revenue has declined every single quarter since 2000. It's the age old definition of insanity...doing the same thing over and over and epecting a different result. Expect the remaining parts of this carcass to be picked over.
