Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Any extra work is meaningless

I completely understand those who try to keep their job as long as possible until they get a better offer, but I feel sorry for people who think that they will achieve this by investing extra effort.
Hasn't everyone been convinced by now that it's quite a waste? It is wiser to invest additional efforts in looking for new options. Just sayin'.

You are spot on. working yourself harder and harder will only get you exactly where you are in the best of times, declining health or worse in the worst of times. in 20 years it will not matter one bit.

When your job, your day to day tasks isn’t appreciated and valued, why would you think that doubling down on that job is ever going to save you?
